Welcome to the Parents & Teachers of IA East (PTIA).
ELECTIONS ARE HERE !
Want to get involved, share your talents, connect with families working to improve the experiences students, support the teachers and build a more connected alumni and parent community? We would love to have you submit a BIO and Candidate Statement for any of our open or current positions. We have 6 immediate openings, but you can also run for a position where a volunteer has been in place for current school year.
See the PDF with the current and open positions and some descriptions of role specifics.
We work as a team and need parents who can commit a few hours a month or more and also take on specific projects to lead (at least 1 or 2) or support as a volunteer. We need self starters who have passion for making a positive impact on the school community. We also need great committee chairs/co-chairs to lead our specific programming goals.
Our 2022/2023 Election will be held on June 14th at 7pm - 8:30pm at our monthly Brinks/PTIA meeting via ZOOM.
Candidates interested, should submit their BIO/Candidate Statement via the form below to email@example.com by Tuesday May 31st, 14 days in advance of the election. Candidate information will be sent via email to parent community by Principal Brinks in advance of the zoom elections.
We plan to set up a summer vision/planning session as a collective new board. If you have ideas and want to make a real difference, this is a great year to join the PTIA board!
Thank you for considering joining our board.

*** YEAR END FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN $8000.00 ***
We are making a request for funding support to continue our PTIA programs and replenish our operating budget from this year. We've borrowed from one time savings to fund $12,000 capital improvements in the library, shared spaces and school, $4100 in Senior Blanket Gifts (given each year even during covid from savings vs. funds raised) and another $4000 in NEW teacher grant program (over 50% already approved directly back to teachers for items like scientific calculators for math and physics students to check out from library for the year and an Arts Dept new clay extruder and attachments to support 3D visual arts curriculum goals).
We need your help.
If every family at IA gave even just $20 (more is appreciated), we would be able to replenish the operating budget which only raised $900 this year from membership dues allocated to this year. Our goal had been $12,000 in membership dues.
Thank you to the families that have given in the last week. We are still $7900 short of our $8000 goal before school year ends.
Please send any amount via check (made out to IA East PTIA, note "fundraiser"), or cash in an envelope to the main office (put "PTIA Fundraiser" on envelope), or easily just click on the PTIA paypal link below and donate.
Note: paypal is set up with our treasurer on our PTIA nonprofit account so the name will show as Rebecca Lukasik as a personal payment type request, funds go directly into the PTIA account - just note it for “fundraiser”. We’ve tried to make this as easy for parents as possible.

PTIA meetings - normally the third Tuesdays of the Month @ 7pm.
In our past months during prior school year we had informative updates, attendee ice breakers, Q&A session for Freshman families, learned about graduation plans for seniors, gained insight into report cards at IA, shared feedback on how things are going for students, learned about programs the school has that support students with wellness workshops and tutoring and so much more. We also passed the budget, an addendum and voted on continuing the popular Senior Blanket Gifts and Essay Scholarship programs.
All families interested in IA are invited to join in these Zoom calls to meet other IA families and staff to learn what's going on at the school and how to support your students as they progress through IA East. Mr Brinks does a monthly school update at the start of each meeting for families.
